clocks

a while ago i happened upon a garage sale in my neighborhood and purchased an amazing clock from a sweet old lady. she told me it was a bar clock: the clock runs backwards (the hands and the numbers) to confuse the drunkards. needless to say, best thing ever. also, it reminds me of alice in wonderland, which is another thing i like about it. i took it on a photo expedition one day and snapped a bunch of random pictures of it. here are my favourites.

time is on your side.

double life

i love double exposures, and this is also a reason why i love pictures of reflections. in both cases there are two separate pictures that overlap and create something surreal and interesting. my film camera (a diana f+) is great for double exposing because it's completely manual. on my digital though, i have to settle for taking reflection pictures, which are harder to come by but always interesting.
i'll post one of each.

hey!
i'm starting this blog as a sort of photography portfolio, a place to keep my favourite pictures other than in a jumbled mess in a file on my computer.
my pictures are kind of all over the place in regards to subjects, but i love photographing small details and drawing attention to things that wouldn't generally be noticed otherwise. i also take lots of landscapes but wish i was better at portraiture. i love weird perspectives, especially disappearing lines, and try to incorporate as many as i can into my pictures.
i shoot both film and digital, mostly depending on my mood and how much money i have at any given time to develop film =/
with that in mind, here's my first photo.

I took this at an italian supermarket when I was on vacation this summer (notice the large volume of pasta). I took a picture of the reflection in the mirror at the end of the cooler - there was a mirror at the other end too, which is responsible for the crazy line perspective.
